The average Russian will set up a New Year's table for 6,430.78 rubles (103,03$) writes Rossiyskaya Gazeta, citing data from Rosstat.
According to the statistics agency, this year, products for the festive feast rose by 2.7%. Cheese - 11.1%, butter - 10.3% and oranges - 10.8% showed the highest price increases. At the same time, red caviar and fresh cucumbers fell in price in Russia - by 4.9% and 8.9%, respectively. Most of all, the New Year's table will cost the residents of Chukotka - for the celebration it will be necessary to prepare 9,528.58 rubles (152,67$). For residents of Moscow and St. Petersburg, a feast will require lower costs - 7,933.34 rubles and 7,060.66 rubles (113,13$), respectively.
According to Rosstat, the cheapest way to set up a New Year's table is in Ingushetia - 3,500 (56,08$) rubles will be enough for this.
A festive table for four people will cost residents of the Moscow Region 4.6 thousand rubles, according to the regional government.
"This year, laying a festive table for a family of four people in the Moscow Region will cost 4,663 rubles (74,72$), which is 133 rubles more than last year," said Vladimir Posazhennikov, head of the ministry, quoted by Moscow Region Today as saying.
The festive basket includes tangerines, apples, pineapple, grapes, bananas, vegetables, poultry, red caviar, bread, sausages, sweets, alcohol, soft drinks, as well as a set of products for the three most popular salads in Russia.
